Our first island stop in Croatia did not disappoint, we stayed for two nights in Korcula town and two nights in Vela Luka in the West of the island. There is so much so explore in Korcula, from the ancient old town, to rocky secret coves and picturesque little fishing towns.
We took the bus from Korcula town to Lombarda in the south of the island, which was such a pretty little fishing village, the perfect day out if you want to take the relaxing to the next level. Lumbara also hosts the island only sandy beach, Vela Przina, so if avoiding the sea urchins is getting too much then head here.
Korcula old city has so many amazing places to eat and drink right through the day, most located on the edge of the city overlooking the crystal clear waters beneath and the mountains of Orebi in the distance.
We also found a great bar next to the marina with live music and strong cocktails, Caffe Bar Academia, which was open into the early hours if you want to stay out late.
Two night later, we headed East to Vela Luka, another quiet fishing town with amazing scenery and lots of exploring to do, we stayed here for two nights or peace and quiet.
We walked miles along the rocky coast one day to find secret spots to sunbath, we came across a kissing spot (there are lots of these across Croatia), this one is supposed to mark the best view of the sunset in Vela Luka and is good luck to kiss your other half while stood on it.
There is so much naturally pretty scenery here, so just walk and take it all in.
